NBC and Henson Co. to Bring Puppet Sitcom to Network

NBC has picked up "The New Nabors," a new series from the Jim Henson Company centered on a human family who live next door to a family of puppets.  This is better than "The Muppet Show" coming back and failing, but you have to ask, will it work?  Based on a concept by Henson Company executive Lisa Henson, daughter of Jim Henson, the series will be scripted by John Hoffman and "30 Rock" Executive Producer John Riggi. This is the Henson Company's first major prime-time network series starring puppets since "Dinosaurs" in the early 90's. Remember that ABC aired all-puppet sitcom? You know, the "not the mama" baby show? It'll be interesting to see how adult the tone of this new show becomes. In the time of "Family Guy" and "Greg the Bunny," does the Henson Co. have what it takes to make a relevant adult sitcom starring a family of puppets? We shall see.
